Yes, I am working on gnome2 support, and actually already have a working version. But, the transparency is hosed because gnome2 panel is hosed - so wait...
This is a hack of the wavelan applet It has theming (evil), APM and maybe ACPI support (I don't have ACPI, so I just wrote the code, and it compiles so it must work, right ?) and does nifty stuff like animations when low on power (because when you're low on power, you want to waste cpu cycles on animation, you didn't know that did you ?).
